The Edwardian Ball is an elegant and whimsical celebration of art, music, theatre, fashion, technology, circus, and the beloved creations of the late, great Edward Gorey. Almost anything goes, from Vampires to dancing cats, skeletons, monsters, mayhem and chaos of the mind. Let your imagination run wild. Choose a costume, hat, mask, accessories and we can even give you assistance with your make up for this fun event.
Set in “Edwardian” times, this multi-media festival has grown over the past decade from a small underground club night into an internationally recognized event, even earning the blessing of The Edward Gorey Charitable Trust.

Unconventional and unusual, eccentric and esoteric, and peculiar and particular in an intriguing and raucous whodunit, the guidelines are defined and redefined by the attendees, all of whom are either sleuths or suspects in hilarious homicidal hijinks.
For the uninitiated, The Edwardian Ball presents a unique blend of live music, theatre, fashion, circus, fine art, riveting stage shows, literature, ballroom dancing, DJs, and character play into a whirlwind, enticing extravaganza. Set in a romanticized, gilded and gentile Neo-Victorian and Edwardian-era, a gothic and steampunk-tinged distant past intertwines with an elegantly imagined future. Other darkly decadent and delightful attractions include our award-winning Vendor Bazaar, Portrait Booth, Museum of Wonders, locally distilled absinthe cocktails, parlour games, alluring sideshows, and much more. All ages are welcome in this kindly interactive environment.
Ballroom dancing leads way to stunning performances both on and offstage in a collage of fashion, theatre, music, circus performance, and dance. Each year, The Edwardian Ball presents a featured Edward Gorey tale in an original stage performance by co-hosts Rosin Coven and Vau de Vire Society.
Since its inception the Edwardian Ball has become one of the most highly anticipated and extravagant events, at one of San Francisco’s premier venues, The Regency Grand Ballroom (formerly the historic Avalon Ballroom), at the corner of Sutter and Van Ness, 1300 Sutter Street, San Francisco, 415/673-5716, on Friday and Saturday, January 24th and 25th.
The acclaimed Edwardian Ball promises a night of music, dance and performance inspired by the delightfully macabre (and occasionally ribald) work of writer and artist Edward Gorey. A must for the adventurous!
We are located at 18849 Ventura Boulevard, between Reseda Boulevard and Tampa Avenue, in Tarzana; a San Fernando Valley suburb of Los Angeles. Our customers come from as far away as Santa Clarita to the north, Orange County to the south, Pasadena to the East and Westlake Village to the West…and everywhere in between.
