Oktoberfest has been held annually all over Germany then found it’s way to the U.S. and over 45 years ago to Torrance, California at the Alpine Village, home of the oldest and largest Oktoberfest celebration in Southern California.   We Americans are always looking for a good reason to party and Oktoberfest is a perfect reason!  The festival is celebrated in the beer garden which accommodates up to 3,000 people and includes a Bavarian brass oom-pa-pa band from Germany, German dancers, contests, beer brewed at the Alpine Village and authentic German food.

Home of the LA County Fair, Fairplex turns into a German wonderland for Oktoberfest every Friday and Saturday with Bavarian music, beer and plenty of chicken dancing. ABOUT OKTOBERFEST

The famed Oktoberfest began with a royal Bavarian wedding in 1810. The groom, King Ludwig I, wanted to celebrate his marriage to Maria Teresa of Saxonia by proclaiming a state fair, in Munich.

The festival was dedicated to the fall harvest and to the regions most famous product, beer. Tradesman and merchants came throughout Germany to join in the merry-making. They examined the crops, sang songs, danced and sampled the first beer of the season. The celebration was such a success that Ludwig issued a Royal Decree making Oktober festival time in Munich.

We are located at 18849 Ventura Boulevard, between Reseda Boulevard and Tampa Avenue, in Tarzana; a San Fernando Valley suburb of Los Angeles. Our customers come from as far away as Santa Clarita to the north, Orange County to the south, Pasadena to the East and Westlake Village to the West…and everywhere in between.
